LearnFromMovies is a ratings company that evaluates the educational and learning content of films. The company's assessors rate the number of educational topics and depth of explanations contained in a movie, and also to what degree a movie may nudge the viewer to explore topics further.
CEO QUOTE
"The inspiration to create LearnFromMovies came from listening to actor Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) talk on BBC radio about how much he had learned from watching The Simpsons. If Homer Simpson can teach Harry Potter anything, surely a good movie can teach your kids a lot too," said company founder and CEO Leo Mowett.
"Why can't every movie be a Sesame Street? Or at least Aladdin's Cave?" - asked Mowett metaphorically.
