MeteoJewels tracks down and collects meteorites for science and jewellery

MeteoJewels Limited is a global meteorite exploration and retrieval company that tracks down meteorite falls, retains samples for scientific research and makes jewellery out of surplus meteorites. The company produces jewellery only from meteorites with confirmed provenance after passing verification via a range of chemical and mechanical lab tests.

GLOBAL STATS
MeteoJewels uses advanced astronomical tracking of meteors and meteorites and sends expeditions of scientists to recover newly fallen meteorites up to 10 times a year, which is the current rate of established new meteorite occurrences on Earth. In addition, the company organises around 50 expeditions a year to search for and retrieve meteorites that are known to have fallen on a certain day in the past, out of a catalogue of some 1,400 witnessed falls known to science so far. Drones are extensively used for ground surveillance and meteorite spotting. The company does not mine meteorites that have not been witnessed when they fell on Earth (as the date of the fall cannot be verified): there are currently around 59,000 existing meteorite finds of this kind.

SCIENCE
In addition to retaining samples of all meteorites for scientific research, the company also preserves all dust and meteorite pieces that are the by-product of cutting and polishing of the chunks of space metal or stone. Meteorite pieces are subjected to joint research with the astrophysics labs of several universities in different parts of the world.

MARKETING
Jewellery made from meteorites that are confirmed to have fallen to Earth on a certain date is considered more valuable than historically accumulated meteorites without confirmed fall dates. Confirmed fall dates are known as the #EarthBirthday of the meteorite, which is significant for customers as most meteorite jewellery is purchased as a present to mark birthdays or anniversaries that fall on the same day as the Earth Birthday of the meteorite. MeteoJewels currently has in stock jewellery that cover most days of the year.
