ThumbsUpDolphins gives dolphins & elephants prosthetic hands, leading to novel AI algorithms

ThumbsUpDolpins! is an artificial intelligence (AI) startup that aims to learn from how higher animals develop tools. For this purpose, a range of intelligent species such as dolphins, elephants and crows are given a prosthetic robotic hand connected to the animal's brain. The hand has an opposable thumb, which allows the animals to grasp, lift and rotate objects for the first time in the history of their species.

The hypothesis behind these experiments is that different animals may develop new tools and arrive at innovations in a different manner to us humans, leading to the development of novel AI algorithms.

The parent company is registering several subsidiaries: ThumbsUpElephants, ThumbsUpRavens, ThumbsUpDogs (not to be confused with sports teams).
